Could an Army veteran have a different future with Stem Cell Therapy?

Would you choose to forgo a Spinal Fusion procedure and opt for Stem Cell Therapy instead?

Many would shout with a resounding “No way!”, until now.

A spinal fusion is a procedure that uses screws and other hardware to join two or more vertebrae together. This makes the damaged section immovable to (hopefully) prevent further damage and less pain.

This isn’t a surgery to take lightly, many who undergo this procedure end up experiencing lifelong consequences.

What kind of consequences?

My father who was Army Airborne had a serious accident on a routine jump one day.

One of his squad mate’s parachutes collided with his causing it to collapse. My father then plummeted 60ft to his demise.. Well, his back’s demise.

The halfway functional parachute evened out the blow of the fall saving his life but his back was never the same.

This was during the early 80’s so he didn’t have as many options as most do today. His doctors naturally suggested the spinal fusion procedure and under the knife he went.

This all happened before I was born.

I can tell you over the entirety of my lifetime he experienced lower back pain every single day.

And a good night’s sleep? Forget about it.

Now, he is certainly not the “regular” outcome for these procedures and as I mentioned, this was back in the early 80’s. Much has advanced.

But I can tell you this, at the age of 64 he’s decided to avoid another surgery and test out something he used to think was “woo-woo” witch doctor nonsense.

That supposed witch doctor nonsense? You guessed it, it’s Stem Cell Therapy.

During his time on this Earth he’s racked up three back surgeries, a total left knee replacement and one wrist surgery.

Having more surgeries just isn’t in his cards at 64 years old and after relentlessly studying the ins n’ outs of Stem Cell Therapy he told me over the phone (and I quote) “Son, I wish I found out about this ages ago […] If I could pay 10 million dollars to go back in time and choose differently, I would.”

Knowing this, it makes me wonder how many patients feel the same.

Many of these procedures and similar procedures need a form of revision in 5-15 years.

Consequences of them such as chronic pain are more common than one would think.

Modern medicine is a marvel, we’ve conquered disease, extended average life expectancy by leaps and bounds, and have even seen huge strides with 3D printed organs.

So, maybe there’s a better way.

Although something is touted as gospel doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best way.

Most doctors are rarely trained in a way that has them to look for the root cause of a problem, they simply diagnose and “fix”.

But what if there was a less invasive way?

One that didn’t leave your body aching for years to come.

One that didn’t append metal hardware to your bones.

I can tell you there is a way like this, and it’s Stem Cell Therapy.

Each and every situation is different, many have different symptoms and that needs to be taken into account.
